And this time it’s a VW!!! Trust me I had no plans to go car shopping today but hey it is what it is. Now tell me what’s your opinion on this car and is the motor reliable?

It’s the base engine with the 2.5l inline 5

They’re solid cars. Good build quality, reliable, sharp looks. Shouldn’t be a bad buy at all!

Thanks. Figured going the non-turbo rout would be a bit safer for him. And that particular engine has been around for quite some time so it must be halfway decent. Never in my life saw a VW Passat on the horizon but for the deal he got on it he better drive it til death.

Haha, the leatherette also holds up pretty good.

That’s all he’ll need. He’ll mix that 2013 V6 grunt but a budget is a budget and this time I was with him to make sure he stuck to his guns.

Nice. He wants to use if for UBER so that works perfectly.

Ew, tell him to get all weather floor liners or something.

Great idea. I’ll price some out. Don’t know how that thought escaped me.

They’re always a good investment!

The 2.5 is solid and the noises it makes are quite unique. The car feels more agile than its size would suggest also, and interior is ridiculously specious.

He’s ok with the fact that it was a rental for nearly 60,000 miles, right?

Yep. His first car was a rental and had nothing bad happen to it. This was about the best deal in his budget so there’s that as well.

I will say that the price looks fantastic for such a new, and well equipped car. Was any warranty offered?

Yep. I believe up to 60k additional mile but I wasn’t there for that part. But from what the old man told me it was a solid deal. They also rolled his $3100 car loan debt from the car he totaled into the deal. All in all it’s a win.

Sounds like it all worked out well. Best of luck to your bro with his new purchase.
